On page 45 of the free Las Vegas Weekly there is a article entitled "If you paint it, they will come". E.C.Gladstone writes a bit about Bodypainting, and this is good for the genre here in las Vegas.
A number of my my favorite bodypainter's were also absent: Amit Bar, Emma Jane Cammack, Mark Greenawalt, Joanne Gair, Frans Hanneman, Petter Hegre, Pashur, Robin, & Marina Ros, This event here in Las Vegas can only grow. I do not know if this Bodypaint Convention will ever approach the festive openness, prize money and size of the annual World Bodypainting Festival in Europe.

Other bodypaint Events...
There are many supporters of the unofficial start of the Summer Solstice Parade & Pageant, where Bodypaining participants ride their bicycles in a clothing optional event produced by the Fremont Arts Council in the Fremont district of Seattle. where nude or almost naked participants ride their bicycles covered only with bodypaint.

Burning Man an annual event held in the Black Rock Desert in northern Nevada has traditionally been a magnet for a variety of self expression, that includes many bodypainting skills and levels...

There is a women only bike ride at the Burningman event that is always controversial with latex paint...

Key West's Fantasy Fest is a ten day adult Halloween celebration that commences on a Friday night with the Coronation Ball, where the King and Queen on Fantasy Fest are Crowned. Fantasy Fest was conceived as a way to boost tourism in Key West. It is now the biggest event of the year, bringing 100,000 visitors more than 3 times the islands population. Bodypainting is a large part of the parades & costume events

E.C.Gladstone touched the highlights of the Bodypainting genre with the Convention in town and Bill Hughes provided a few photos for the Free Las Vegas Weekly publication...
